Water sports lessons

Enjoying the bay doesn’t have to be vigorous nor expensive; there are so many options.

pg21aThe Bay of Banderas is beautiful whether one sits on the beach watching the sun rise or set, enjoys happy hour at their favorite beachfront bar, jumps on a paddle board, sails on a yacht chasing the breaching humpback whales or takes lessons on a small laser sailboat.

The season brings families to vacation in paradise, and beyond whale watching they often want to learn something new or upgrade their skills. A few activities guests have shared their excitement about thus far this season include surfing and laser sailing.

My guests exuberantly asked me to interview Risa Mara Machuca Schlanger from Surf It Out in Sayulita.

With her partner Diego Ulises Bernal Lara, Risa coaches surfing for all levels. And she’s a proud community member and independent filmmaker as well.

“We’re here because we want you to have the best surfing experience of your life,” they say on their website. “Surf It Out is a boutique service, and we pride ourselves on creating customized surf retreats based on individual and/or group needs.”
