The Old Town Farmer’s Market-Tianguis Cultural reopened November 1 and will run every Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., until the end of April. The market is located in Lazaro Cardenas Park on the south side of town just one block from Los Muertos beach.
About 30 vendors sell all kinds of goods such as organic produce, apparel for the family, homemade dips and salsas, fresh cut flowers, coffee, breads, cheeses, chocolates, handcrafted jewelry, body products, refreshing beverages, plus take home and freshly prepared foods.
Concierge Festival
An evening of light snacks and wine take center stage at the Pacific Region Concierge Association’s 5th Annual Festival del Concierge on Friday, November 7, 7 p.m. in the Arrecifes Restaurant at Puerto Vallarta’s Westin Resort and Spa, located at Paseo de La Marina Sur 205 in Marina Vallarta.
The 250-peso ticket price includes tasty appetizers provided by the best restaurants in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit. These are complemented by a selection of red and white wines.
Guests can participate in an auction for stays in the most spectacular resorts in Banderas Bay, as well as a Grand Raffle with prizes that include dinners, tours, day passes and more. There is also live entertainment. Proceeds support two non-profit Puerto Vallarta charities, Pasitos de Luz and Canica.
Pasitos de Luz provides vital services to disabled children and their families living in extreme poverty, while Canica offers social services and counseling to children with cancer in public hospitals.

High Style
The city’s best stylists will be putting their skills and imaginations to the test for the 3rd Annual Hairspray Night on Saturday, November 8, 7 p.m. at Mantamar Beach Club, Malecon 169 on the far south side of town, right on the beach.
It’s a dazzling evening of outrageous costumes, big hair and a spectacular runway show. Tickets cost 250 pesos and include complimentary hors d’oeuvres and an hour-long open bar.
Money raised goes to the SETAC Community Center, which provides testing, counseling and assistance with meds for mothers with AIDS for their children.

Help Deliver a Smile
A sumptuous brunch hosted by the International Friendship Club (IFC) will be held at Casa Fantasia, Pino Suarez 203, Colonia Emiliano Zapata between calles Aquiles Serdan and Francisco Madero on Tuesday, November 11, 10 a.m.
The brunch costs 200 pesos per person and includes coffee. There is a charge for other drinks. Proceeds from the event go to the IFC’s Cleft Palate program, education programs and other charitable activities.

Art Walk
The Centro Historico Art Walk, a weekly stroll through Puerto Vallarta’s galleries, started on Wednesday, October 29. This is the 17th year organizers have showcased some of Mexico’s finest artists, as well as those from other countries who have decided to make Vallarta their home. The Art Walk continues through May 27 and runs from 6 to 10 p.m. every Wednesday.
The self-guided walking tour includes nine galleries, each hosting cocktails and exhibitions. Artists display their work in various mediums and many are on hand to answer questions. For more information and a copy of the map visit VallartaArtWalk.com.
Gourmet Cuisine
The 20th Annual Festival Gourmet runs from November 13 to 23 in Puerto Vallarta, Nuevo Vallarta and Punta Mita. Close to 30 restaurants are participating and each is hosting a guest chef for the event. These chefs come from all over the world and share their experience, knowledge and recipes with their local counterparts.

B-I-N-G-O
Get your card markers ready for the first PuRR Project bingo of the season. The event will be held at Playa Los Arcos Hotel, Olas Altas 380 in the center of Puerto Vallarta’s Romantic Zone on Wednesday, November 5, 5 p.m.
There will be lively halftime entertainment by Academia Danza de Moorea, a local group of Polynesian dancers. Winners will receive awesome prizes and there’s a multiple-pull 50/50 raffle. Playa Los Arcos has food and drink specials just for bingo players. Get there early for a good seat and tickets go on sale at 4:30 p.m.
Proceeds benefit 150 cats residing at Purr Project, a no-kill feline sanctuary north of Puerto Vallarta.
Shuffling Along
The South Side Shuffle kicks off on Friday, November 14 at participating businesses along the famous shopping street, Basilio Badillo in Puerto Vallarta’s Old Town. The event runs 6 to 10 p.m. every other Friday.
There will be complimentary beverages and even the occasional appetizer, plus live music from two to four groups circulating nonstop on the sidewalk.
The South Side Shuffle is two blocks long and since the sidewalks have been made wider, it is even easier to socialize and shop.
Scholarly Start
The first Becas Breakfast of the season is on Wednesday, November 19, 9 a.m. at the oceanfront bistro Vitea, Libertad 2 in Vallarta Centro. Chefs Bernard Güth and Ulf Henriksson will be preparing a special menu for the event. There will be raffle prizes and a silent auction featuring beautiful art work and gifts.
The price is only 150 pesos shared equally by Becas and Vitea. The money helps about 400 young becados (scholarship students) from 8th grade through college. The funds cover tuition, school uniforms, school supplies like pencils, notebooks, math tools, dictionaries, calculators and backpacks.
