The Puerto Vallarta Garden Club’s membership kick off party and first fund-raiser of the season takes place at The Jazz Foundation, Allende 116 at the Malecon. Get ready to enjoy some great music on Thursday, November 17, 5-7 p.m. There will be complimentary appetizers and a cash bar.

The Garden Club’s annual membership fee is 500 pesos per person and 750 pesos per couple.

The Jazz Foundation features a gorgeous view of the bay and Malecon from its terrace. The spacious performance hall can seat up to 100 guests. Owner Jorge Dau and his partners are opening up their venue as the Garden Club’s meeting facility this season.

Those attending next week’s event will learn about the club’s past accomplishments and all upcoming activities.

The 22th Annual Festival Gourmet runs November 12-20 in Puerto Vallarta, Nuevo Vallarta and Punta Mita. Close to 30 restaurants are participating and each is hosting a guest chef during the event. These chefs come from all over the world and share their experience, knowledge and recipes with their local counterparts.

Two chefs from Austria will be preparing their traditional dishes with modern twists. Johannes Weinberger and Lida Zebedin have worked in celebrated restaurants in the Austrian states of Carinthia and Styria.

Meet others through ExPats in Vallarta. This is a social group with informal fellowship and assistance for expat residents or visitors living, working or investing around Puerto Vallarta or considering it.

Here are November’s events:

Happy Hour gatherings at Langostino’s, on the malecon just north of the pier. Enjoy beverages and light snacks on Tuesday, November 22, 5-7 p.m.

Neighborhood Coffees on Tuesday, November 15, 10 a.m. and Tuesday, November 29, 10 a.m. at the Starbucks in Marina Vallarta located on the ground floor of Nima Bay, Paseo de la Marina 121.

A special dinner is scheduled for Thursday, November 17, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at El Andariego Restaurant, located at Calle Mexico 1358, across the street from Sr. Frogs in Colonia Cinco de Diciembre.

There are four delicious main courses: Coco Shrimp for 155 pesos;

Mexican Combo with Enchilada, Chile Relleno and Crispy Taco for 145 pesos; Chicken Fajitas for 150 pesos; and Fresh Fish in Garlic sauce  for 145 pesos. Price includes tax and tip; drinks and drink tips are extra.
