Letters To The Editor - October 9, 2015

Dear Sir,

As a long time resident, I have always found Dale Hoyt Palfrey to be a balanced reporter.

But the tone to her article (“Ajijic man shot dead,” GR Sept. 21, 2015) about the execution of Pepe Farias was so negative and pejorative. He deserves better.

The words “principal supplier” make it sound like he was some big time cartel member. He was not.

Pepe was a kind soul who always had a smile and a good word to say. In the years I worked at Tom’s Bar, I always looked forward to him passing by.

He entertained at parties. He helped expats with translation, both documents and in conversation. He was far more than a link in the “Supply & Demand” chain and deserves to be remembered as such.
