Where is the newest place in town to have a delicious tapas meal? It is Doppio Café in Riberas del Pilar. Owners Grant and Karen have come a long way. This gem of a small business started as a tiny coffee truck on the Libramiento.
We would often stop there on the way to the airport for their delicious lattes and cappuccinos. But, even through the difficulties that came with COVID, they have thrived and built a strong business.
Now located on the mountain side of the Carretera, at Hidalgo 257, they have been serving their coffees, as well as delicious breakfast and lunch foods for quite some time. Even within that location they have grown. When the Cuban restaurant within the same building closed, they moved their kitchen into the Cuban space, creating a separate kitchen for their pastry chef to work her magic. Favorite menu items of mine include their breakfast burrito, the savory avocado toast, their delicious homemade pies and cinnamon-y oatmeal cookies.
