City’s new baseball franchise steeling for October start

Tickets to watch the newly reconstituted Charros de Jalisco play ball in next season’s Liga Mexicana del Pacifico will range in price from 100 to 600 pesos (There will be some restricted view seats on sale for 25 pesos.)  

The Telmex Athletics Stadium, built for the 2011 Pan American Games, is being reconditioned to host the Charros’ home games throughout the season, which begins in October.  

The 12,500-capacity stadium will offer seats  for 100 pesos in they upper tiers; 150 pesos on the first and third base sides; 300 pesos the central zone behind the home plate, as well as 600 VIP seats costing 600 pesos. Season tickets will go on sale from August 14 and offer savings of 20 percent on regular prices.  

There will also be 12 hospitality suites, two of which will be for the exclusive use of the Jalisco and Zapopan governments, while the other will be used by the team’s sponsors.

Charros caps, jerseys, jackets, wristbands, sweatshirts and other memorabilia will also go on sale shortly, costing from 100 pesos to 950 pesos.

The team’s first game will be on October 19 against the Aguilas (Eagles) de Mexicali.  

Charros directors say they are making extensive plans to ensure that each home game become a fun experience for the family – with activities for kids and a superior selection of food options.
