Baseball returns to city for winter league

The Charros de Jalisco get the Mexican Pacific League (LMP) baseball season underway Saturday, October 13, 5 p.m. at the Charros Stadium in Zapopan. 

The Guadalajara-based ball club face the Venados de Mazatlán in the inaugural game of the eight-team winter league that runs through February 2019.

Fans can purchase a ticket bundle for the opening game and the first home series of the season – against the Naranjeros de Hermosillo Tuesday, November 16 to Thursday, November 18 (all at 7:15 p.m.) – on the Charros Web site, charrosjalisco.com. Tickets for the four games run from 600-3,500 pesos.

Individual tickets for games, as well as season tickets, can be purchased at the stadium, Santa Lucia 373, Colonia Tepeyac, Monday, to Friday. 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

After the Hermosillo games, the Charros will go on the road before returning home for a weekday series against the Aguilas de Mexicali (October 26-28, 7:15 p.m.) and a weekend match up with the Mayos de Navojoa (Friday, October 30, 7:15 p.m., Saturday, October 31, 5:15 p.m. and Sunday, November 1, 3:15 p.m.).

In addition to the stadium, Charros merchandise stores can be found in several metro-area plazas: Plaza Patria, Gran Terraza Oblatos, Plaza del Sol and Centro Comercial Andares.
