The Charros de Jalisco secured their spot in the 2026 Mexican Baseball League (LMB) playoffs Tuesday, defeating the Dorados de Chihuahua 12-9 in a thrilling extra-inning affair at the Estadio Héctor Espino.
Former MLB star Jared Walsh powered the Charros’ offense with a pair of home runs, including the decisive blast in the top of the tenth. The game was a back-and-forth slugfest featuring 21 runs and 25 hits.
Playoff schedule
The LMB regular season concludes August 6, with opponents and final seeding to be determined. The Charros currently hold a 46-45 record, occupying fourth place in the Zona Norte standings.
The first playoff round begins August 8 and runs through August 16. As a lower-seeded qualifier, the Charros are expected to open on the road for the first two games (August 8-9), with home games at the Estadio Panamericano in Zapopan scheduled for August 11, 12 and 13 (if needed) in the best-of-seven series.
The Zona Norte Series follows from August 18-27, with the Championship Series slated for August 28-September 6 and the Serie del Rey (League Championship) running September 8-16.
