Mexican automotive industry booming

Mexico manufactures one out of every ten cars sold in the United States today, the head of the Mexican Association of the Automotive Industry (AMIA) revealed at the International Business Summit held in Guadalajara this week.

“We are the third largest supplier of cars in the United States and we are the leading supplier of auto parts in the U.S. market ... we are the eighth biggest vehicle manufacturers in the world,” said AMIA Director Eduardo Solis Sanchez. Mexico now exports cars to over 100 countries and the United States accounts for about 65 percent of all exports, Solis added.
