After receiving many complaints, Zapopan city hall has finally decided to regulate the parking concessionaries operating in the metro- area municipality’s many shopping malls.
“There are big holes in the regulations and the (concessionaries) can charge what they want,” said city councilor Jaime Prieto, who intends to sponsor the new rule changes in the next council session.
Among new plans are to charge fees by the minute, not by the hour, as well as having a fixed fee for a lost ticket (concessionaries can currently charge what they like).
Malls will also be obliged to provide cycle ports for bicycles.
