According to the police report, two armed men forced their way into the store and fired at Jaime Romero, 55, when he refused to hand over any cash.
The report stated that municipal police officers managed to detain the two robbers as they fled the casa de cambio with two bags containing 630,000 pesos. A third man, apparently waiting in a getaway truck, managed to evade capture.
The two detainees, both in their early 20s, were reportedly form the state of Sinaloa.
