Guerrero Santos’ graceful designs are no stranger to a pope’s eye. He also made several pieces for John Paul II, including a Virgin of Guadalupe given to the pontiff as a gift by Cardinal Juan Sandoval Iñiguez, the former archbishop of Guadalajara.
