In Plaza del Sol, new rules to keep traffic flowing better will not allow vehicles to turn left from Avenida Moctezuma into the lateral lanes, which allow access to the plaza’s parking area. Drivers who want to access the plaza will have to turn right onto the lateral lanes of Av. Lopez Mateos and make a U-turn once they reach Av. Mariano Otero.
License and registration
New driver’s license requirements now call for applicants to bring a copy of their CURP. You can get a copy of your CURP free by going to http://consultas.curp.gov.mx/. Also needed are your passport, FM2 or FM3 and verification of domicile (utility bill/bank statement, including postal code) – plus a copy of each and your blood type. The new licenses now include a chip to make falsification difficult.
If you haven’t yet paid your Jalisco car registration (refrendo), expect to pony up another 667 pesos fine beyond the 416 peso refrendo fee. More than 230 motorists in the state still owe this year’s refrendo.
