Heartfelt easter marches

For the second year, Guadalajara’s Barrio de Analco neighborhood staged a dramatic Good Friday Marcha del Silencio (Procession of Silence) to honor Our Lady of Solitude.

This tradition originated in Spain around the 13th century and is celebrated most vividly in Mexico in the city of San Luis Potosi.

Meanwhile, religious organizations, migrants and their supporters took part in a procession of the Stations of the Cross (víacrucis) along a section of the city’s railway tracks. Also participating were a group of mothers whose children have disappeared.
