Guadalajara Film Festival goes to Cannes

Guadalajara will be represented in May at the world’s top cinema festival, Cannes.

Acting as ambassadors to the tiny, affluent coastal French town will be, among others, Ivan Trujillo, director of the Guadalajara International Film Festival.  The delegation, under the banner of “Guadalajara Goes to Cannes,” will present their selections for entry into the festival on Monday, May 14, 10 a.m. to noon.   Films to be presented include “Cuando Cierro los Ojos” (Mexico), “Miriam Miente” (Dominican Republic), “Ok Esta bien” (Mexico), “Perro Bomba” (Chile) and “Sumercé” (Colombia).

The “Goes to Cannes” initiative was began by the French festival in order to provide exposure and distribution to films which may be at a disadvantage in that area.  This is the first year that a Mexican film festival has been involved.
