US consul general ready to take her leave

Tanya Anderson, the U.S. consul general in Guadalajara, has been making her farewells before taking leave of the city this week for pastures new.

As is the custom nowadays, messages of thanks are often posted on social media accounts, and Anderson has been making good use of Twitter in her final days. “It was always a pleasure to serve the citizens of the United States who live happily in Jalisco, and provide them with essential consular services,” she wrote on the Consulate’s feed, accompanied by an image of herself at the Lake Chapala Society.

Also, Anderson posted a photo alongside Governor-elect Enrique Alfaro, the former mayor of Guadalajara, whose support she said was pivotal in getting the new consulate construction project off the ground. The new diplomatic complex will be constructed on a large site in Colonia Monraz, at the corner of Manuel Acuna and Aztecas, across from a Superama store.
