Gunman opened fire outside a shopping mall in Guadalajara’s Providencia neighborhood Wednesday evening, killing a Canadian man and injuring three others, Jalisco’s Attorney General informed local media Thursday.
Raul Sanchez Jimenez named the deceased as Bugget Giuseppe, and one of his injured companions, a Mexican-American, as Alfredo M., aged 53.
Witnesses said three pickups drew up on Avenida Americas outside the Punto Sao Paulo mall, before several gunmen got out and began firing at Giuseppe, Alfredo M. and an unidentified woman. Sanchez Jimenez said it appeared the Canadian was the intended target.
The two others injured in the shooting were a security guard and a passerby.
