Zapopan plants one millionth tree

The Zapopan municipal government notched up a milestone this week, confirming the planting of one million trees since Mayor Pablo Lemus took office three years ago.

The one millionth tree, an ahuehuete (Mexican cypress), was planted in the Unidad Deportiva El Polvorín along with 150 others of different varieties.

At the event, Lemus praised the efforts of several governmental and civic associations that have helped repopulate the municipality with trees.
