Technology and tradition go hand in hand at Calaverandia,a new theme park wrapped around the annual Day of the Dead celebration.
It opened November 1 in Guadalajara’s Parque Avila Camacho. Covering an area of 4.5 hectares and a walking distance of 1.8 kilometers, the multimedia spectacle not only offers state-of-the-art effects, but also historical insight into this unique Mexican festivity.
Narrators, fireworks, food and fun are guaranteed nightly, organizers say. Open daily through November 18. Free entry until 7 p.m.; 450 pesos, 7-11 p.m. Sunday to Thursday, and 7 p.m.-midnight Friday and Saturday.
