All takeoffs and landings at the Guadalajara International Airport were suspended for five hours Thursday after an Aeromexico flight from Mexico City made an emergency landing at around 10:30 a.m.
Witnesses said smoke could be seen discharging from the landing gear area as the plane touched down. Emergency firefighters were on standby and doused the plane in foam when it came to a halt on the runway. The 151 passengers and crew were evacuated safely. Incoming flights were diverted to Puerto Vallarta, Aguascalientes and Leon.
