Bus drivers got a crash course in what it’s like to be a cyclist or pedestrian on city streets this week, in a novel experiment conducted by the state Traffic Department.
In the initial stage of the program, drivers of the Macrobus BRT network were asked to cycle along a narrow stretch as buses passed beside them at various speeds.
Drivers of other routes will undergo the process as the program continues over the next few weeks.
