Driver’s license hub extends its hours

Such is the demand for driver’s licenses in the Guadalajara metropolitan area that the main office of the Secretaría de Movilidad (state Traffic Department or Semov) is to open in the late afternoons for the first time in its history.

In addition to their morning and early afternoon shift (8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.), Semov headquarters located at the Alcalde and Circunvalación glorieta will also open Monday to Friday, from 3 to 6:30 p.m.  Although appointments to obtain new or renewal licenses are not obligatory on weekdays, they can be made online at the Semov website ahead of time, if spaces are available.  However, all payments for services required during the later afternoon shift (license fees, etc.) will need to be paid for in advance.

For some time, the Semov office has also been issuing licenses on the second and fourth Saturday of each month. This will soon be extended to every Saturday each month, although a date for this changeover has not been set. Note that only those making online appointments and pre-payment can be attended to on Saturdays.
