Craft beer festival on tap this weekend

The beer will flow generously this weekend in Guadalajara as more than 50 breweries of various sizes congregate at the Festival de Cerveza, billed by organizers as the largest in Latin America.

pg4bPrimarily a showcase for craft breweries, the festival will feature a wide assortment of homegrown and foreign ales, as well as plenty of entertainment and food options.

Among the confirmed participants are: Minerva, K.Vra, Patricia, Golden Draak, Loba, La Blanca, Krox, La Bru, Steinbock, Chela Libre,  Ajuijullo, 7 Mares, Cebada, Principia, Colima, Cola Blanca, Delirium, Calavera, Naipe, O’Haras, Santa Sabina, Jabali, De Halve Mann, Erdinger La Belga, Zorra, Corazon Malta and Capital Pecado.

This year’s event will include a special pavilion from the United States, featuring an array of craft beers from Mexico’s northern neighbor.

The festival is not simply an outlet to slake one’s thirst. Various local eateries will be on hand with a range of tasty fare: Karne Garibaldi, Wabba Texas BBQ, Black Albahaca (pizzas), Sonora Meat & Wine, Todo del Cerdo, Jack’s Crab House, Wings Army, Los Choris, German Garden and Glucklich Cochi, Kings Fries and La Blanca de Mexico.
