State university announces computer, iPad share program

As the Universidad de Guadalajara continues its classes online, the institution has launched a program to get laptops and iPads into the hands of high school and university students who don’t own them.

The aim is to rotate the use of 1,000 laptops and 50 iPads among the 30 percent of UdG students who don’t have access to either of these devices.  The students will be able to use the loaned devices for periods of three days before they must pass them on to colleagues in a similar situation. Half of the laptops will be distributed to students enrolled at campuses in the Guadalajara metropolitan area and half to high school students elsewhere in the state.
