Additional routes have been set up as part of the free transportation network allowing medical personnel to get to their places of work in Guadalajara in safety.
The service has been boosted in the wake of 39 separate reports of physical assaults and verbal attacks targeting medical personnel in Jalisco since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
At least 13 are under investigation and suspects have been identified in eight of the cases, the state prosecutor’s office says. In one of the most recent cases, a nurse was not only verbally abused but handed a drawing that mocked and insulted her profession.
