Yes to Grito

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said that despite the Covid-19 pandemic, Mexico City will host an Independence Day parade on September 16, as well as the Grito ceremony on the previous evening, when only 500 people – in representation of the country’s 32 states – will be permitted in the capital’s huge Zocalo (main square).

Covid & dengue

The Jalisco Health Departmnt (SSJ) has revealed that five persons, between 7 and 52 years old are suffering simultaneously from Covid-19 and dengue. The patients are from the municipalities of Jocotepec, Poncitlán, El Salto, Tlaquepaque and Guadalajara.

Internet training

The Jalisco Secretariat of Economic Development (Sedeco) has launched a program to train more than 2,400 small and micro businesses in using digital tools to improve sales. A recent study by the National Statistics Institute (Inegi) showed that during the coronavirus pandemic 30 percent of small businesses in Mexico have augmented their sales through the additional use of the internet.
