Israeli community in capital stands together

Many countries have experienced an upsurge in anti-Semitic incidents as a result of the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict.

Speaking on the steps of the Israeli embassy in Mexico City last weekend, Einat Kranz Neiger, the Israeli ambassador to Mexico, addressed the growing tide of anti-Semitism, saying that many people have been brainwashed by the “partisan media” and  “Hamas and Palestinian propaganda.”

Kranz addressed a large gathering of Israeli expats and Mexican citizens from the Jewish community to a backdrop of Israeli and Mexican flags, posters showing photographs of the Hamas hostages, as well as dozens of blue and white balloons.

Kranz called on “world leaders and the entire international community” to demand the immediate release of the 199 hostages held by Hamas following its October 7 attack on Israel.

“The people of Israel are united and determined to win this war,” she declared, stressing that her nation “will grow and emerge stronger from this tragedy.”

The Mexican government has said it is “negotiating with friendly governments” to try and obtain the release of two of its citizens being held hostage by Hamas.
