Democrats Abroad launch online auction

As the news is dominated by the Republican Party’s efforts to choose a presidential candidate for the national election in November, Democrats have faded somewhat into the background.

However,  Democrats Abroad (part of the Democratic National Committee) are on the move and preparing to launch a fund-raising campaign – a vital part of today’s electoral process.

Democrats Abroad has announced that it will hold an online auction that will go live on April 26 and run through May 6. The online storage space, where those donating auction items can publicize them, is now open at www.biddingforgood.com/democratsabroad.

This should be an exciting auction because expatriate Democrats from around the world will be offering unique items and looking for bids. There could be a condo for a week in Paris, a painting from Japan, air miles, handmade jewelry or crafts from Thailand. The items offered are only limited by Democrats Abroad members’ imaginations and prices ranging from 25 dollars and up. There are DA members in 50 countries with a huge membership from the six million U.S. citizens living abroad. Local DA members are being encouraged to offer items for auction for the purpose of raising funds for advertising the upcoming get-out-the-vote campaign.

Coming up for Democrats Abroad is the Pan American conference in San Miguel de Allende on March 23 and 24. Jim Hightower, national radio commentator and author, will be the principal speaker. Those interested in attending might even be able to hitch a ride. Contact  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

The Democrats Abroad Global conference is set for May 17, 18 and 19 in Puerto Vallarta.
