New Chapala officials to take oath Sept. 30

Chapala Mayor-elect Joaquin Huerta and other newly elected municipal officers will take the oath of office at a swearing-in ceremony to be held Sunday, September 30, 6 p.m. at the Auditorio de la Ribera in La Floresta.

Other members of the 2012-2014 council of aldermen are Maria Eugenia Real Serrano, Octavio Matias Aguirre Curiel, Carlos Antonio Soto Perez, Marcela Serratos Lopez, Veronica Nazaria Gonzalez Vazquez, Moises Sanabria Galvez, elected under National Action Party (PAN) slate; Gerardo Degollado Gonzalez, Maria de la Luz Mendoza Huerta and Amador Torres Romero, representing the Instititional Revoluntionary Party (PRI); and Francisco Javier Diaz Ochoa taking a seat for the Citizens Movement.

Sanabria will serve as the municipality’s legal representative in the post of sindico (solicitor general).

At press time, Huerta was still keeping his list of cabinet appointees close to the chest, feeding public speculation about which current government officials might retain jobs at city hall and which will be sent packing.
