Speed cameras on Chapala highway

Jalisco’s Transport Department (SVT) says motorists should expect to see mobile speed cameras installed on a regular basis at weekends on the Chapala-Guadalajara highway near the Ixtlahuacan turnoff.

The 40-kilometer highway has one of the highest accident rates in the state.

The SVT says mortality rates from auto accidents in zones where cameras (both permanent and temporary) have been positioned have fallen since cameras were introduced in 2010.
