Circus hands electrocuted

A roustabout died by electrocution and a workmate suffered serious injury while they were helping set up a traveling circus on the western outskirts of Jocotepec.

The incident occurred on Monday, September 23 when the two men were handling large iron poles that accidentally came into contact with high tension electrical wires strung up at the site.

The dead man was identified as Sandro Alberto Gonzalez Hernandez, 40. His injured companion, Samuel Salmeron Cortes, 39, was rushed to a local clinic for emergency medical treatment. Both men were listed as residents of San Luis Potosi.
