Feria de Maestros showcases premium Mexican folk art

Hardcore shoppers and collectors of Mexican folk art will have a field day at the 12th annual Feria Maestros del Arte, set for next weekend at the sprawling grounds of the Chapala Yacht Club.

Running Friday, November 15 through Sunday, November 17, the huge show brings dozens of the country’s most talented and distinguished artisans right to our doorstep. Exhibitors will be offering textiles and clothing, ceramics, masks, Huichol bead and yarn arts,  jewelry, toys and dolls, lacquer ware, household furnishings, and a cornucopia of articles fashioned from stone, wood, metal, paper, gourds, straw, palm fronds, cornhusks and pine needles, as well as high quality publications on Mexican art and culture.

Gates open daily at 10 a.m., closing at 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 4 p.m. on Sunday.   Admission is set at 50 pesos per person.  Look for profiles of the visiting artists and entertainment program details at www.mexicoartshow.com.
