Folks who have urgent pending business at Chapala City Hall should get on it next week. The municipal government’s regular office hours will be put on stand-by for the Christmas holiday, effective Monday, December 23.
A skeleton staff will be on call to maintain essential services and handle emergency situations. Regular garbage pick-up and vigilance by the police department and the civil protection-firefighters unit will not be interrupted. The normal Monday through Friday work schedule, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., will resume as of Monday, January 6. Early bird tax-payers will be welcomed immediately to settle up accounts on property taxes and water service fees with maximum discounts for full annual payments.
