Ajijic street improvements unveiled

Residents of Ajijic’s west end joined Cahapala Mayor Joaquin Huerta and other municipal officials for two ribbon-cutting ceremonies on Monday, August 11 to unveil recently completed public works projects on Calle Flores Magón and Privada Francisco Villa.

Two blocks of Flores Magón were rehabilitated with cobblestones set in cement, new sidewalks and a staircase built at the street’s north end to give pedestrians safe access to the highway. Improvements on Privada Francisco Villa involved the installation of underground electrical wiring and water conduits covered with a long pathway of interlocking stone pavers adjacent to 11 small building lots.

Beneficiaries of the projects served food and drinks to celebrate the occasion and show their appreciation to the authorities for finishing these long-awaited neighborhood improvements.
