Juan Torres Chávez has been tagged to take charge of Regulations, Inspection and Oversight, filling in for Carlos Rosales Pérez, who bailed out from the post on August 11 after just 25 days on the job.  Torres is the fourth man assigned to tackle the enforcement of municipal regulations under Huerta’s watch. He comes to city hall with experience in private enterprise and a background in health, hygiene and civil protection.

Moving in to head the office of Communications and Public Relations, Antonio Ramírez Ávila takes over the job of former press chief Roberto Arroyo Olivarez, who was bumped up to the post of municipal comptroller last June.  Ramírez brings in his expertise as the proprietor of a publicity and advertising outfit in Guadalajara.

In announcing the appointments, the mayor told local reporters that he chose the new officials on the basis of long-standing personal friendship and confidence that they have the capabilities, integrity and spirit of teamwork required to effectively fulfill their duties.

To assure greater efficiency in providing vital public services, Huerta decided to reassign Public Sanitation Director Mauro Michel Perales, naming him to double up as head man in the departments of General Services and Public Lighting. Michel replaces Daniel Horacio Ramírez Torres, moved from General Services to the staff of the Municipal Sports Commission and the office of treasurer for the Charales soccer team. He switched jobs with Emigdio Maldonado Alatorre, who leaves the lighting department to become point man for garbage collection and street cleaning, a job he held some years back.
