Chapala’s fourth regulations chief calls it quits

Juan Jose Torres, the fourth director of Chapala’s Department of Regulations, Inspection and Vigilance appointed by Mayor Joaquin Huerta, has resigned from the post, effective May 15.

Regulations inspector  Javier Cortes Aceves will fill in as office chief for the remaining four months of the Huerta administration.

Daniel Garcia Gonzalez served as Regulations director for the first year and a half of the current administration. He was replaced by Arturo Rivera Mexicano, who held the post for four months before resigning to accept employment with Jalisco’s Electoral Institute.  His successor, Carlos Rosales Perez, threw in the towel after barely four weeks on the job.

Torres assumed the position last August. His departure is attributed to the demand for his services as an independent consultant on matters of civil protection and environmental impact.
