Local Century 21 branch hosts realtors’ convention

The lakeside Century 21 franchise AccessMex hosted a group of more 140 real estate agents and brokers from five states at the company’s regional summer meeting Friday, August 14 at Ajijic’s Hotel Real.

Local Century 21 realtors mixed with colleagues from branch offices located in Aguascalientes, Nayarit, Guanajuato, Queretaro and elsewhere in Jalisco, for a conference program on honing professional performance, paired with time slots to network, socialize and gain familiarity with the lakeside area and its attributes.

Century 21 Mexico CEO Stephen Yeager opened the assembly, energizing the company team with a brief talk packed with upbeat figures on rising sales volume and corporate growth. With 13 new offices opening this year, the international corporation’s Mexico branch now ranks as the largest real estate chain in the nation, he said. He reminded the crowd that knowledge, innovation and passion are the core values that distinguish the company’s mystique.

Business coach Daniel Garcia Sotres followed with an interactive motivational speech entitled “Empower your Inner Giant.” He outlined practical steps to follow a professional life plan for a proven formula for success.

In an aside with the Reporter, Yeager pointed to industrial hubs such as Monterrey, San Luis Potosi, Hermosillo and Puebla the country’s current real estate hot spots. He sees San Miguel de Allende as a stronger market than the Lake Chapala area due to its recognition as a charming colonial city and high profile as an arts and culture center.

He noted that sales to foreign buyers at resort destinations are now picking up after a seven-year lull which he attributes to the combined effects of the U.S. recession and fears about living in Mexico instilled by bad press in the international media.

Yeager envisions an imminent boom on the horizon for Mexico’s realty sector prompted by an increasingly strong dollar and the anticipated surge of baby boomer buyers seeking affordable and amenable living south of the border.

Acting as proud hostess for the gathering was AccessMex broker Cristina Rojas. Following in the footsteps of her late father Enrique Rojas, a pioneer in the local real estate business, she has accumulated more than two decades of experience in the field, as well as numerous performance awards and high positions in the franchise board structure along the way. The family firm has been a Century 21 affiliate since the company first entered the Mexican market 26 years ago.

Corporate sponsors supporting the convention included fiscal strategy outfit Alfabai, credit broker Carlos de Anda, and Legal Global Consulting, a firm specialized in real estate law.
