The Lake Chapala Birders reports sightings of 151 species by 25 birders during three separate trips taken in March.
Interesting sightings included an Elegant Euphonia, a Northern Beardless Tyrannulet, a Merlin and Magnificent and White-eared Hummingbirds.
Upcoming trips and bird walks are open to all those interested in birds, both beginners and experienced birders. Just bring binoculars and show up.
Wednesday, April 19, the birders will meet at 8 a.m. at Donas Donuts in Ajijic to carpool for Lake Cajititlan, where they will see a variety of marsh and lake birds. At about 10:15 a.m. the group will go to Las Delicias restaurant in Chapala for breakfast and complete the bird list.
