Women’s March on the move

Ajijic artist Janice Kimball is up for an encore as the keynote speaker for the first anniversary Women’s March of Ajijic.

Plans for the Saturday, January 20 pro-equality and human rights demonstration have evolved organically over the past month.

The event is set to start at the Ajijic Plaza, 10 a.m., with Kimball’s brief words of wisdom, to be followed by a parade down Calle Colon to the open-air forum at the waterfront Malecón. The rally will close around noon with Susa Silvermarie delivering a closing speech.

Last year’s event, programmed in alliance with the Women’s March on Washington, attracted an estimated  crowd of between 600 and 800 locals and visitors.
