Five young women will vie for the crown title at the sixth annual International Ambassador of Agave and Tequila beauty pageant to be held Saturday, May 5 at the open-air forum on Chapala’s waterfront Malecón.
The event will be comprised of three parts, starting at 5 p.m. with the introduction of the contestants in informal dress. There will be a one-hour break while they are prepared to appear in body paint allusive to the agave plant. They will make turn on the runway in semi-formal wear.
The finalists include Ilse Elizabeth Muñoz Segura from Jalisco, along with candidates representing Guanajuato, Michoacán, Nayarit and Tamaulipas. The winner will be named La Diosa Mayáhuel (goddess of the agave), to reign at the Festival de Agave set for May 26 in Guadalajara.
