Alejandro Aguirre Curiel, the Partido Acción Nacional (PAN) candidate in Chapala’s mayoral race, will reach out to the expatriate community at an open forum scheduled Tuesday, June 12, 10 a.m., at the Chula Vista Country Club.
Understanding that most foreign residents are not eligible to vote in the July 1 election, Aguirre announced that the encounter will not constitute a political rally, but rather a legitimate channel for listening to those who wish to speak out on important issues that they hope will be addressed by the next municipal government.
As a sector of the population that contributes significantly to the local economy, expats are entitled to express their opinions on public matters that impact the quality of life for the community at large, the candidate says.
