Chapala constituents stage election protest

An angry crowd of more than 300 Chapala residents showed up at the headquarters of Jalisco’s Electoral Tribunal on Thursday, August 2, to demonstrate against the official outcome of the municipal election.

Holding up hand-lettered placards labeling the process as fraudulent and riddled with irregularities, the protestors demanded a rerun of the July 1 vote.
