Suspects in political attack off the hook

The four men arrested July 27 on suspicion of attacking campaign supporters of Chapala mayor-elect Moises Anaya in May have regained their freedom.

The presiding judge at the regional criminal court ordered their release for lack of sufficient evidence to hold them over for trial.  Under the law, the suspects may be apprehended again should more solid evidence emerge implicating them in the crime of attempted homicide.
