Chapala Public Security Amador Baena Pinzón lead local reporters on an inspection tour of the unfinished police department headquarters that has been under construction since last November near the Soriana supermarket.
The basic structure was built with part of an eight-million-peso federal funding package. Installation of doors, windows, furnishings, equipment and other finishing details to be paid by the municipality remain incomplete.
Baena pointed out cracks in walls and floors, shoddy materials and other shortcomings of the project that are now under analysis by engineers cooperating with the new municipal administration. DHP
