Bird’s-eye chopper tours come to lakeside

Jump aboard a chopper to see Lake Chapala from a new perspective.

pg19The Guadalajara-based helicopter outfit Tequila Flying Experience is starting up weekend tours, taking off from Chapala’s Cristiania Park  Saturdays and Sundays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., weather permitting.

With capacity for six passengers and the pilot, the helicopter will offer sweeping bird’s-eye views of the lake and its surrounding landscape during ten-minute flights to airspace over Ajijic and back.  Flights will be scheduled according to demand and offered during the winter high season at the introductory cost of 1,500 pesos per person.

The Eurocopter S130 V4 model helicopter is the same as those commonly employed for air tours in Las Vegas and New York City. The company operates in accordance with Mexican flight regulations and with full insurance.

Tequila Flight Experience also runs overhead tours of Guadalajara and five-hour excursions to Tequila, landing at the Casa Sauza Rancho el Indio for visits to various points of interest, tequila tastings, a three-course luncheon and live entertainment.
