City Hall starts anticipated legal action

The Chapala government this week lodged formal complaints against department heads from the 2015-2018 administration who failed to account for equipment, vehicles, funding and official records held under their responsibility.

pg7bTen denouncements registered at the local public prosecutor’s office outline irregularities detected in the management of the municipality’s departments of comptroller, public works, legal matters, transparency, information systems, public sanitation and vehicle maintenance, along with the press office, Women’s Institute and DIF Family Development program.

The estimated value of lost or misappropriated assets exceeds eight million pesos.  The individual complaints name the respective head officer of each agency, as well as the incumbent mayor, treasurer and director of patrimony as subjects of investigation.

Other pending cases involve anomalies found in the transition of the Department of Urban Development, the Treasury and special areas of public works.
