Ajijic’s government building opposite the town plaza is the latest local Delegación office that will rely on sun god Tonatiuh for electricity.
The Chapala government has just finished installing ten solar panels on the rooftop and a converter on the second-floor patio in a switchover to renewable energy aimed at reducing its CFE (Comisión Federal de Electricidad) utility bills. The solar system will be up and running as soon as the CFE meter is fixed in place.
Solar equipment is already operating at the Delegación offices in San Nicolás de Ibarra and Santa Cruz de la Soledad. According to Chapala Mayor Moisés Anaya, after Ajijic, the green energy mode will be set up in San Antonio Tlayacapan.
