A female resident of San Antonio Tlayacapan has been detained on suspicion of sexual abuse and child prostitution, Jalisco authorities revealed this week.
The suspect identified as Alicia “N,” age 33, was picked up at her home under an arrest warrant issued on the basis of an investigation stemming from the criminal complaint registered last July by relatives of an eight-year-old girl. The child claimed she was sexually abused and tricked into being photographed while left alone under the suspect’s care. The official probe is also looking into a possible connection with a child pornography ring.
The case is now in the hands of the District Five Criminal Court headquartered in Chapala for the prosecution process.
