U.S. Consul General Robin Matthewman welcomes Chapala Mayor Moisés Anaya as one of the guest dignitaries invited to take a shovel at the May 14 ground-breaking at the new site of the U.S. Consulate in Guadalajara.
Two days later, Anaya and two other city hall officials departed for a 12-day jaunt to California aimed at strengthening bonds with Chapala and Ajijic natives residing in that state and formalizing a twin city agreement with authorities in the town of Pico Rivera.
