Bus service under scrutiny

Members of the Chapala City Council and auxiliary staff hit the road Thursday, May 23 to carry out an inspection tour of local public transportation services.

The officials boarded buses following different routes in Chapala and Ajijic to observe the conditions of the vehicles, bus stops and the conduct of drivers, and to survey passengers on their experiences.

The councilors will use the information to draw up recommendations for improving customer service provided by Autotransportes Gudalajara-Chapala, the monopoly that operates bus lines within the community, to and from Guadalajara and intermediary points.
